Opening a Source Video
Turbine Video Encoder can handle most video file types.
As a rule of thumb, if one can play a video by using either Windows Media Player or Apple QuickTime Player, then TVE can also handle it. It can also handle AVI formats with user installed codecs. The most common video formats supported are:
- Windows Media (AVI, WMV, ASF, WMA, WAV, using any AVI/WM codecs like DIVX, XDIV, etc.);
- QuickTime (MOV, QT, DV, AAC, AIF/AIFF, using any QuickTime codecs)
- MPEG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MP3)
- Mobile phone formats (3GP, 3G2)
- Several image formats (PNG, JPG, BMP, animated GIF)
To open a source video follow these easy steps:
- Select Open Source Video... from the File menu
- Select an existing video file when the file dialog displays
- Press Open button to close the file dialog
Alternatively, you can just drag and drop a video file from Windows Explorer into Turbine Video Encoder main window.
You'll notice that a preview of the opened video will show in the preview area.
